Story
Dear Supporters
Last year on behalf of Islamic Help, I along with a few other volunteers travelled to remote villages in Tanzania in aid of The Tanzania Ramadan Appeal 2018.
We pledged to sustain 200 families with food parcels to last them through the whole of Ramadan. However with your generous support we went above and beyond this target. We provided support to over 500 families who were in dire need of our help. These villagers are from some of the most poorest places in the world. With a lack of food, clean water and basic necessities.
With your unwavering support we did not only provide 500 food parcels but also built 3 much needed wells in areas where there is no clean sanitised water for miles. There were two deep wells built, these wells will be providing lifesaving water for years to come. These wells are now completed and are being used by the grateful villagers. Please see photos below
In addition to the food parcels and wells a medium sized mosque was also constructed. A total of £26000 was spent on these projects. A further £6455 was spent on food parcels and much needed refurbishment of an Orphanage for Albino children and an eco village where local people work to sustain their own livelihood and at the same time take care of the environment they live within.
This was all possible due to your generous donations last year. The smiles you put of these people's faces will forever remain an image I will remember forever so thank you.
This year we aim to raise yet even more money for the people of Tanzania with Islamic Help's 2019 Ramadan Food Parcels Appeal. As I have stated above these people in the remote villages are in terrible need of our support. Last year I saw firsthand how poor these people really are. They were collecting rain water to drink and feed their families. They survived off 1 meal of Maize flour per day. See photos below.
We hope you will support our brothers and sisters by donating generously and making it easier for them this Ramadan.
A few volunteers from Luton will be leaving for Tanzania a week before Ramadan, if you are interested in joining them you are most welcome. Please contact Islamic help.
Remember our beloved prophet said "Whoever feeds a fasting person, will have a reward like that of the fasting person, without deduction in his reward." (Tirmidhi)
Thank you and may you be rewarded for your efforts InshaAllah
