Story

Thank you for visiting our fundraising page where we can tell you a little more about the Walk and the involvement of Atos Origin in the Olympics.

Please see below for a list of fundraising events

In May 2008, just prior to the start of the Beijing Olympics, a group of walkers from Atos Origin, joined by other groups sourced from fellow Olympic Sponsor companies and a number of Olympians, will fly to China to spend 7 days walking the great wall of China. We will spend 5 hours a day on average walking. The aim is to raise as much money as possible for the British Olympic Foundation.

The British Olympic Foundation aims to raise the profile and understanding of Olympic principles and ideals and to encourage participation in sport at all levels. Each member of the team has a personal target to raise £3000, at least 60% of which will go to the BOF. Any money we raise in addition to that will go 100% to the BOF and we would like to raise at least an additional £1000 per person.

So what does the BOF do? It does great things! It sends Olympic athletes into schools to train and inspire youngsters of all ages, it supports schools promoting sports in a number of ways, it organises and runs the Olympic Youth camp which runs alongside the Olympics and helps foster cultural understanding and that Olympic spirit, it runs Enterprise days as part of KS4 curriculum to help teach commercial aspects of business using the excitement of the Olympics, it promotes the utilisation of women in sports management and it hosts the largest Olympic library in the UK. There is more! See www.olympic.org.uk

So please will you sponsor us? Any amount is much appreciated, even £1 will help.

Donating through this site is simple, fast and totally secure. It is also the most efficient way to sponsor us: British Olympic Foundation will receive your money faster and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 28% in tax will be added to your gift at no cost to you.

Many thanks for your support.
