3 Peaks Challenge · 22 June 2012
Last November, a group of Women from Atos met together in London. During the evening we were inspired by a conversation with 2 colleagues about their experiences of undertaking the Three Peaks by Rail to raise money for The Railway Children charity. Their story, plus a small amount of alcohol, gave birth to an idea - to enter an all female Atos team in the challenge in 2012. The end result was in fact 3 teams, 12 women, all making a personal commitment to tackling the Three Peaks and raising over £10,500 for The Railway Children.
This is our collective Just Giving site. Please, please give generously, especially if you know several of those taking part. We are committed to getting ourselves fit enough (and this is a huge ask for many of us) to make it up and down three mountains in quick succession.
2012 is a very special year for the Three Peaks by Rail as it’s their 10th anniversary. Atos have entered 3 All Women teams:
Team 1
Nicole Quincey - Is really starting to panic having discovered the route isn’t signposted!
Isobel Morgan - Being used to the rolling hills of Ireland, I’m concerned my knees will buckle at the sight of an actual mountain!
Fiona Hill
Jean Fleming - Awarded 25m swimming badge 35 years ago. Limited physical challenge since then!
Team 2
Laura Crawford - Recruited due to qualification in putting plasters on blisters!
Lisa Allan - Top tip is to get a really bright head torch for our evening stroll up Snowdon! Cause it will be really dark!!!!!
Lisa Coleman - Blissfully ignorant of what it means to walk up hill as I live in Lincolnshire !
Karen Stables - The hike up the stairs in LTQ is not getting any easier. It doesn't bode well!
Team 3
Anne Ware - Left the training plan to my husband and suddenly realised I have been participating in an extensive rural pub crawl!
Sally Ford - Is hoping her redbull wings will be enough to get her to the top!
Becki Day - No sleep for how long?! Going to need inspiration from Speedy Gonzalez...Arriba! Arriba! Ándale! Ándale!’
Cathryn Miller -
