Story

On Saturday 17 th June at approximately 5pm my nephew John Mackey was involved in a fatal quad bike accident close to home. 2 neighbours one of which was a medical professional and a passer by gave John CPR and called emergency services. John was then  rushed to hospital The  Royal Victoria Hospital in Belfast and was admitted to Regional Intensive care unit.  That evening the hospital advised that John had sustained fatal head and body injury’s and was not likely to survive. In order to give John every chance the consultant and medical staff stopped sedating John for 48 hours then reconfirmed our worse fears that John had infact already passed away as his brain was dead. Johns 20th birthday was 21st June on this day he also gave the gift of life to many others via organ donation.  I am raising funds for Revive charity. This charity provides life saving equipment and education for the staff of the royal Victoria Hospital
