Story

The London Marathon has always been on the bucket list and I'm delighted, and excited to finally get a spot for April 2023. Moreover its provided an opportunity to raise money for PSPA.

I am running this marathon for my Pappa/Dad - Jens A. Wilhelmsen. This man mountain has been the most wonderful father and greatest role model to me. Pappa was cruelly diagnosed with Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD) two and a half years ago. Life for all of us in the Wilhelmsen family has changed dramatically and Pappa is currently back home getting the best treatment in Norway. My family and I live life to its best everyday and I cannot think of a more appropriate occasion to give everything for my Pappa.

Unfortunately there is no current treatment for CBD. It's a nasty condition with an array of different effects, and the last couple of years has just shown the importance to raise awareness and requires much more research to understand the condition better - and to improve treatment. This is the perfect platform.

Any contributions would be hugely appreciated!

Thank you so much!

PSPA is the only UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of people living with Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) and Corticobasal Degeneration (CBD). We provide information and support for people affected by PSP & CBD whilst funding research into the causes, treatment, and eventually a cure. Together we can stop PSP & CBD in their tracks.
