Project Trust encourages school leavers to spend a whole year volunteering in Africa, Asia, Central and South America. Its unique approach enables volunteers to develop their full potential while immersing themselves in a new community and sharing their skills and interests.

Story

Hello, My name is Aydan Stuart, and I have been accepted by Project Trust to go to Thailand in Eastern Asia as a volunteer teaching English to children and young adults in a small rural village.

UPDATE - I have been selected to go to Det Udom in the province of Ubon Ratchathani in the north-east of Thailand!  - -  I will be working in Det Udom Technical college, built by the government to offer education to rurual dwelling people. Its a pretty modern college surrounded by most definatly non-modern village surrounding. Paddy feilds to the north, and to the south!

The breif said "The nearest village (equivient to our towns) is a 10 minute cycle ride away, which has traditional wooden houses and busy with the smells and sounds of the market"

My 'adventure' will begin in August 2008 and I will spend 12 months Det Udom, along with one other volunteer.  I will spend the whole 12 months in the same place so I will become part of the community, unlike many other volunteer projects who move their volunteers around all the time. I will not be a Farang but a Friend!

Project Trust is a non-profit making charity, which deserves some merit, don't you think?!
The projects are a huge benefit to the community and don't deprive local people of jobs - since the job can only be fulfilled by an English speaking volunteer, like me!!

I'm a college student so time is scarce and money is tight, so to raise my massive target, any little donation helps.
It's simple, fast and secure and if you are a UK taxpayer you can add on an extra 28% without it costing you a penny over the amount you specified, thanks to giftaid!

Thankyou for you kind generosity, and believe me, its not going to be wasted!!
