Almost a year ago, we received the very sad news that our friend Jane had lost her battle against cancer, leaving two beautiful daughters under 6 and a loving husband, Steve.  

Since this time, I have learnt of a further three more people, a close friend and two closely related to dear friends, who have either passed, been diagnosed or are currently fighting this awful disease.

The Royal Marsden trust do an absolutely sterling job caring for, supporting and helping both sufferers and their families during these very emotional and difficult times.

Jane was just 39, so in her memory and to mark her 40th birthday we are walking 10 miles to support Steve, his girls and the work that the Royal Marsden Trust do.

So please open your hearts and your wallets and get behind us, it would mean a lot!!!!

Lastly, but certainly in no way least, my wonderful father-in-law, Len, diagnosed with early stage prostrate cancer recently, this ones for you too even though your thousands of miles away, I will be thinking of you, love you and know you're being well looked after xxxx
