Story
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for all your generous donations, I have raised more than my target amount (£1000) and donations are still coming in so thank you, thank you, thank you!!
Well, Last Sunday seems like a dream, it was so much fun but certainly a challenge. We started off being picked up at Central ferry pier at 4 am in the dark having cycled through all the festive party goers on Wyndham Street! We arrived in Tai Lam Country Park in the dark and it was soooo cold! We reluctantly left the warmth of the bus and psyched ourselves up for the first step of our adventure - running in the dark! Off we went at 6 am, map in hand for the first leg of our adventure. Despite an ill-fitting head torch we soon warmed up and the sunlight crept over us as we ran. Then it was on to the bikes - a wrong turn made our cycle a little longer than necessary!! - but we were back on track soon enough and on to the rock scrambling up a beautiful river bed. A few soggy trainers later we came to a waterfall and a pool that we had to jump into to reach the scrambling net - refreshing yes - breathtaking absolutely!!
Then it was more running and biking until we came to the abseil off the Tai Lam Chung reservoir bridge down the dam wall. This was the bit I had been worrying about but no time to think about it so straight down I went! Back to base along the reservoir path and our last cycle to the coast and then kayaks on the beach, it took 9 hours 30 minutes all told and we loved every minute of it! Kate and I even came first in the women's category and won ourselves a trophy!
An amazing experience that I won’t forget, thank you all so much for your support : )

I have decided to take the plunge, conquer my fear of heights (!!) and take part in the SUUNTO Action Asia Challenge Hong Kong 2011 on 11th December.
I am raising money for Save the Children and would really appreciate as much sponsorship as possible for this worthy cause.
The race involves the following over 50/55 km:
Trail running, mountain biking, ocean kayaking, rock scrambling, orienteering, map reading, abseiling.
So while you are tucking into your pre-Christmas mince pies and mulled wine, I shall be training and getting in shape for the race!
