Towards the end of August I, along with a couple of friends will be aiming to cycle from Big Ben to the Eiffel Tower in 1 day. We will be leaving Big Ben at 4pm on Friday 22nd August and hope to arrive at the Eiffel Tower by 4pm the next day.

 A couple of years ago I cycled from Land's End to John O' Groats and was stunned by the level of support received. It is now time for another challenge! 

Having spent much of my life enjoying all that the outdoors have to offer, from rock climbing in the Peak District, walking mountains across the British Isles and Europe and road cycling and mountain biking, I have witnessed on many occasions the great work that rescue teams do. As such I have decided to support my local mountain rescue team, Edale Mountain Rescue in the Peak District. Mountain Rescue teams are made up of volunteers and receive no government funding and so are reliant upon fundraising.

Edale Mountain Rescue Team (EMRT) operates in the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire and is one of the busiest Mountain Rescue teams in the UK. In 2010 they were involved in 140 incidents across Derbyshire and parts of South Yorkshire
