KORT Leicester Office is raising money for Kashmir Orphan Relief Trust

The paths in Snowdonia National Park can be demanding in places. The mountainous terrain can become challenging with steep gradients, rocky paths and some scrambling required. Exceptional care should be taken when attempting these paths in winter conditions as the ground underfoot can become treacherous and should not be attempted by novice walkers. You should look out for loose scree and steep slopes if undertaking these walks.
The following participants JABINE AKHTAR, SABAA AHMED, NAHIDA ISMAEL, JUNAID QASIM will be undertaking this challenge to raise much needed funds for KORT.
KORT is providing food, shelter, clothing, medical care and
education for almost 200 orphans, including children who were orphaned by the
devastating earthquake of 2005 and the floods of 2010.
Following a record donation of land (approx 13 acres) from
the Government of Azad Jammu & Kashmir to KORT in September 2007, KORT has been working tirelessly to build a purpose built Educational Complex in Jarrikas, Mirpur, AJK, which will provide all
the above amenities for over 1000 orphan children. In addition to this, KORT will also provide education to an additional 500 underprivileged children from nearby villages.
Construction of the main school building, the mess building and the Mosque are fully complete and our children are now also based at this new site.
Currently work has begun on the construction of the girls hostel
with construction of the boys hostel, the medical centre and the dental clinic to follow.
