Story
Hello everyone,
After lots and lots of very long and hard training, it is now time for me to look for sponsors for my first ever (and last ever) half marathon... yes, Babbe, the girl that would do anything to avoid gym class in school.
My charity of choice is Freshfield animal rescue centre.
The whole idea of raising money for a cat charity started just over two years ago when my lovely cat, Polly, suddenly died. It upset me greatly and I felt I wanted to do something positive for cats in need.
At the time I set myself a goal of running 10k for charity as I had never run before and could not even run for the bus... the whole thing got somewhat out of hand, and after completing several 5k and 10k runs for other great charities, I would now like to do the big one for Freshfields animal rescue. While they need money for all their rescue animals, I am going to ask them to use the money I will raise for the cat section, because that was my original idea.
The photo attached is of me with the lovely Victor, a former stray cat who found his way into my house and heart and who made me realise even more what lovely creatures cats really are.
Thank you for any donations you can make...while I've set my target at GBP 100.00, I am of course greatful for any amount you can spare, no matter how small.
Please look up Freshfields animal rescue centre- they really are a great charity but they are struggling enormously financially. I have been there and seen for myself what a great organisation they are.
Thank you!
