Story
Hello and thank you for clicking on the link to our fundraising page.
We have created this page to raise money for Bolton Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) following time spent recently in the unit with our baby.
On 12th January we sadly said the hardest of goodbyes to our 9 day old son, George who was born very prematurely for reasons unknown.
For 9 days in neonatal intensive care George fought on and we struggled with the unknown. We were warned we would be on an emotional rollercoaster ride, but nothing could have prepared us for how high and how low the ride would be. There was nothing inbetween. We had to take each hour as it came.
George had many complications and wasn’t well at all. He was suffering with grade 4 and grade 3 bleeds on the brain, collapsed lungs, a hole in his heart, intestinal perferation and NEC.
The entire team at Bolton NICU were amazing with George and our family. Our fantastic consultant Dr Dinakar Seshadri, the team of Drs, nurses, midwifes, cleaners.... every single person we spoke to were great. We were given free accomodation which meant we could stay with our baby the entire time, we were given free parking, all the information required and more, toiletries, food and drinks, emotional support, bereavement and funeral advice, and so much more.
To show how thankful we are to them all we would love to raise as much money as possible for the NICU. This money can be spent on special equipment, staff training, parent facilities, anything the unit needs.
So thank you again to Bolton NICU, and to you for reading our story and for any contribution you are able to make.
Thank you
Jackie, Kieron and baby George
