Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

The past few months have been a very difficult time for me, my family and my friends. I suddenly became very poorly and was diagnosed with severe pneumonia. I was admitted into the Intensive Trauma Unit in June 2014 and was in a coma for 2 months. During this time I was placed on a life support machine called ECMO. This amazing machine along with the dedicated doctors and nurses helped to save my life. I had several lifesaving operations while in intensive care and I almost died, Thankfully, I survived and I am now making a slow and steady recovery after staying in hospital for almost 4 months.

I appreciate and am extremely grateful to all the staff at Glenfield Hospital for the amazing care they gave me.  They saved my life and I have nothing but praise for them all. I would like to raise as much money as possible for the ECMO team and the Intensive Trauma Unit and give back to them for the enormous effort, kindness and care they gave me. They are all brilliant! I will launch my charity fundraising on Christmas Day 2014. My family and I went to the hospital to give treats for the staff and patients in the Intensive Trauma Unit, Ward 17 High Dependency Unit and Ward 15.

Over the next year I will be organising many fundraising activities. Please keep visiting this website for more information as i will be updating it regularly.

Please give generously as all the money will go directly to the hospital...every little bit helps! Thank you to all of my friends and family who have donated already...we reached my target of £2000 within two weeks!! I have increased the target to £4000 now... come on we can do it!

Twice weekly I have  Pulmonary Rehab  appointments and I see many of the doctors and nurses there who looked after me.  They are so appreciative and so thankful for everything we are doing. Let's keep going!

UPDATE : April 2015

Since Christmas I am feeling much stronger. I am continuing with my Pulmonary Rehab. It's Easter now and today I have been back to Glenfield Hospital with some Easter Hampers for the staff who work tirelessly in Intensive Care and the ECMO team. I will continue to visit throughout the year.
