Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I know, speaking from personal experience, that treatment for Cancer can be positive, but, I also know the sadness that it brings when we have lost the most dearly loved ones from the family, and friends who have passed away too.

In August and in aid of Cancer Research, as as part of Tesco's Charity of the Year, Frank and myself are cycling from Inverness to Glasgow then from Glasgow following the coast (because its mostly flat apart from a steep bit) to Carlisle. The journey is approximately 420 miles, give or take a couple, and we are hoping to do it in 8 days.

The journey takes us from Inverness through Aviemore, Kingussie where there is a steady 20 mile uphill cycle to the top of the Drumochter Pass then a lovely 15 mile downhill, passing through Pitlochry to Kenmore where we cycle along the length of Loch Tay to Killin, briefly pass through Callendar, Aberfoyle, Gartmore, Balloch, Dumbarton and into Glasgow. (217miles)

From Glasgow we head towards Paisley, Irvine, Troon - passing the Royal Troon Golf Course, Ayre, Glentrool Village, Newton Stewart, Kircudbright, Castle Douglas, Dumfries, Annan, Gretna Green then into Carlisle. (214miles)

We are using the Lochs and Glenns Cycle Route Maps North and South on the National Cycle Route 7. Hopefully the weather will be fine!!!!!

If you would like to sponsor us or make a donation along the journey we would be extremely greatful :-)
