Story

I have been involved with this great charity one way or another for over 25 years and like the industry it supports -it works quietly behind the scenes to support those who support us everyday - namely those that work or have worked in the grocery trade. During the pandemic these workers were exposed everyday not only to the disease - but to the pressure to meet the massive surge in demand and the needs of the public. we know that many people would have been in severe difficulty if not for the efforts of the Independent and local retailers working alongside the major chains by putting in delivery services and working all hours to feed the nation. This is not a well paid industry and many have little to fall back on during times of crisis, this charity is there for them when they need help.

GroceryAid has been providing emotional, practical and financial support for grocery colleagues since 1857.GroceryAid can help with a wide range of topics including mental health and wellbeing support, family and relationship advice, debt management, back to work support and counselling. Specialist counsellors are also available for those who have experienced a traumatic incident through our Workplace Critical Incident Support.Financial grants can help those who may be experiencing hardship due to a change in circumstances.
