Médecins Sans Frontières / Doctors Without Borders (MSF) is the world's leading medical humanitarian aid organisation. We work in over 70 countries - in conflict zones, natural disasters and epidemics. We are independent, neutral and impartial. We provide medical care where it's needed most.

Story

During a fairly drunken conversation with a friend we got onto the subject of natural disasters. More specifically, the devastating effect that natural disasters have upon peoples every day lives. At the pinacle of this conversation, I vowed to bleach my hair to raise money for the Philippines.

The next morning, my head pounding from one too many cheap portugese beers, i discovered the note I'd drunkenly written in my phone to stop me from forgetting my promise. And so being a man of my word, I will be dying my hair for the victims of Typhoon Haiyan.

My charity of choice is Medecins Sans Frontieres, a charity celebrated for its consistently low administration costs, with the majority of donations going to those who really need it.

I don't know how much money I can raise, but even if I can raise enough to help to provide medical provisions for just a few people, helping them out of a state that they do not deserve to be in, then that's good enough for me.

So in a few days time Bashiru's hair will go a completely different colour, think Abel Xavier or Taribo West haha.
