Porterbrook Three Peaks Challenge by Rail 2022 · 9 June 2022 to 11 June 2022 ·

Railway Children has a vision of a world in which no child is lost to the streets. Across the UK, India and Tanzania, our networks provide an opportunity for us to reach children who are alone and vulnerable before they come to serious harm. Together, we’re determined we’ll leave no child behind.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our fundraising page.

Railway Children are a fantastic organisation who provide protection and opportunity for young people at risk of homelessness and abuse.

Every year thousands of children across the UK, India and East Africa run away or are forced to leave homes that have become unbearable through poverty, abuse, violence and neglect. The Railway Children have helped over 300,000 street children over the last 22 years, providing safety, community engagement and strategies for long term support.

We have two incredible teams taking part in the National 3 Peaks Challenge By Rail.

Their train will depart from Crewe on Thursday June 9th evening and travel to Snowdon, which they will climb overnight. They will then head for Ravenglass to climb Scafell Pike, before a night on the train up to Fort William to climb the UK's highest mountain, Ben Nevis.

Some people estimate this is probably the equivalent of three half marathons on quite difficult terrain and of course there is little prospect of much sleep.

Please support our colleagues as they prepare, train, and undertake this significant physical and mental challenge. We wish them all the success!
