I'm Bear and I'm a transgender person who first came out to my parents 2 years ago. When I first came out the Mermaids helpline, website and resources were a huge help to us all in helping to find out where to go from there. I felt that it was time for me to give back and help raise money for kids in the same boat as me. 

As for Mr Severs, I had mentioned a potential sponsorship to him and  he was keen to help out (basically saying "Oh well, I'm balding anyway"). I'm incredibly grateful to him (and his luscious locks) for this, not only because it's a deeply generous thing to do but also because we can now make this an Amery Hill School event!
