Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I was talked into taking on the challenge of walking 3 miles for the JDRF by Kathryn because I have been speaking about taking up running as a fitness activity once again, after a bad ankle break in 2009. I am hoping to be able to enter 3-5K races for charity at least once a year when I have recovered a good level of fitness. Kathryn thought that a 3 mile (5km) walk would be a good event to start with, plus the sponsorship will go to a good cause.
My own brother is a Type 1 Diabetes sufferer, diagnosed when he was 19 years of age. T1 Diabetes can be very difficult to control, and although many advances have been made through the years to improve the quality of life of sufferers, their lifespan is still under threat every day of their lives.
So please dig deep and donate now.
