Story

We sadly lost Liz in April last year during the height of the pandemic after a long battle with lymphoma.

I am planning on running 4 half marathons and my first ever triathlon this year (along with a few too many 10ks) and want to raise money for Blood Cancer UK who are vital in researching new treatments for people like Liz to live a longer life.

Let’s just hope Covid doesn’t push any of the runs back to 2022...but no matter what I’ll run them all virtually so will do it no matter what (except the triathlon if the pools are shut!!). These runs include the Great North Run and the Manchester Half marathon.

Liz was a phenomenal woman who lived with this brutal disease for too many years. For those that knew her, knew her zest for life was unstoppable and her ethos of living life to the full is something I’ll hold onto forever.

The fact we haven’t been able to celebrate her life properly and in the way she would have wanted us too with far too much fizz and a damn good party, has made this year even harder but as soon as we can we will. Doing this instead is my tribute to her. She’d have thought I was crazy for running so far but hopefully running all this can generate some much needed funds for an amazing charity
