Swimathon 2019 · 29 March 2019 to 31 March 2019 ·

Cancer Research UK and Marie Curie are calling on the nation to get down to the pool for Swimathon 2019 - thousands of swimmers, two great causes, one big charity challenge.

Story

In a moment of madness back in 2018, I thought it was a good idea to sign up to swim 5k as part of the Swimathon challenge. To help me out, I got my children and mum to join me to make a team and share the distance.  Although we all swim regularly, 5k is far more than we would normally swim, so a challenge lies ahead.

Cancer is a disease which hits far too many families, sometimes with devastating results. We were one of the lucky families, Jan's cancer was discovered early thanks to screening tests and was treatable. More research into this horrible disease will mean more people can survive and more families stay together longer.

Please help us all to achieve the team distance of 5k by sponsoring us for encouragement.  It will be a mental challenge for us all, particularly Coby and Lilka, who has only completed her 25m badge to manage to swim the full 33m length of the Quarry pool.

Thanks

Becky, Jan, Coby and Lilka xxxx
