Becky's Ladies Pink Collar Boxing page

Ladies Pink Collar Boxing · 4 October 2014
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
For those who know me well, will know that my second favourite film is Rocky. For a very long time it has been a dream of mine to learn to box and take part in a boxing match. So when I heard about the Ladies Pink Collar Boxing Event in Leeds I had to sign myself up. This is my opportunity to fulfill one of my ambitions in life.
Every one of the ladies taking part in this event are raising money for different charities. All in all we will all raise a fantastic sum of money for some great causes ranging from Cancer Research UK, the Women's Trust, Martin House and lots more local and national charities.
I have chosen to raise money for the Stroke Association because my best friend Gemma has suffered from 2 major strokes, and my fiance's uncle is also in recovery having suffered a major stroke at the start of this year. The Stroke Association does amazing work with stroke sufferers and their families to support them through life after a stroke. The effects of a stroke are devastating and recovery is a long and difficult path.
I am currently in the midst of my 8 weeks of training in the build up to my fight which will be on 4th October at Headingley Cricket Ground. I've found the training really challenging, and especially on my first sparring session when I got it handed to me! I'm working hard and giving it everything I have to move better and get stronger. When I step inside the ring I want to say I have given it everything I could have done and I know I will feel super proud and will have achieved something really special.
I am fighting for Gemma and Mike, and all stroke sufferers out there in recovery, you are all absolute fighters and an inspiration.
Thank you all for your support - I hope to do you all and myself proud.
