Story
After five successful Channel crossings in the last three years, a brand new squad of Beech Hall Mencap Marvels will, once again, be attempting to battle the waves and the jellyfish to swim to France. Ten swimmers are now in the final phase of their training, planning to swim to France in late August in a junior team of 6, and a senior team of 4.
They passed their CSA qualification in May - two hours in just 13.8 degrees in Dover Harbour, and have recently completed the Swim The Channel Up North 36km through-the-night challenge in Boundary Park.
Thank you for your support of our swimmers and Mencap.
