Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

On the 8th May 2022, I will be running the Leeds Half Marathon alongside my father, Ian. We are hoping to raise as much money as possible for the British Beekeepers Association. As well as bees' general importance for the survival of the human race, my wonderful late grandfather used to be a beekeeper (he was affectionately known as 'Grandad Bees') so we are running this race for him!

My grandad was also an avid runner so I hope to do him proud on the day. He once ran a marathon in 3 hours 20 minutes - at the age of 58! At less than half his age and running half the distance, even if I ran this race in that time I think I'd be pretty pleased with myself!

Any donations would be really appreciated and would really motivate us to actually start training for it.

Thank you :D

About the charity

BBKA works to support bees and beekeepers. The honey bee is under continuing threats from Varroa Mite, disease and lack of forage. We invest in honey bee health research, provide educational resources on honey bees & their environmental importance and support beekeepers in the beekeeping craft.
