Velo South 2018 · 23 September 2018 ·

When the sun goes down the working day ends for millions of people without electricity. At the flick of a switch, lives can be instantly changed with a solar light. SolarAid wants to make real, sustainable change happen.

Story

Our company, Belltown Power, has entered a total of 16 people into the Velo South. This is a gruelling 100 mile cyclosportive through closed roads across the South Downs and around the Goodwood Motor circuit.

Because we love a bit of competition, not only will we be beasting ourselves to race each other unnecessarily, but the Bristol/New York team is going head-to-head with the London team to raise the most money for charity! Help us win!

Belltown Power is a renewable energy company with a core focus on making the world a better place. We have therefore chosen to support SolarAid (www.solar-aid.org) which is an international charity that combats poverty and climate change by providing access to solar lights in some of the most remote regions of Malawi, Uganda and Zambia, whilst educating residents on the benefits of solar power. Without solar light, children cannot study at night, men and women stop work early and toxic and dangerous kerosene alternatives are used.

No donation is too small! We appreciate whatever you can give to this amazing charity who are lighting up (literally!) people's lives.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.

Thank you!
