We are fundraising to achieve a target of £100,000, with the aim to build a deserving peaceful and respectful memorial garden within the grounds of the elite 16 Air Assault Brigade’s Merville Barracks, Colchester. The new memorial will commemorate our fallen brothers, those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty for the Third Battalion, The Parachute Regiment. The existing memorial garden in its current state (see photos on our page) is not fitting of the calibre of man it represents; this must change.

Together, we will raise the funds required to commission a statue and memorial garden in honour of our fallen brothers - soldiers who represented their battalion on operations around the globe in the most demanding and arduous environments imaginable. Men who placed themselves continually at immense risk fuelled by love for their glorious country, the people serving alongside them and motivated by fierce regimental pride. A role of honour will be engraved upon the statue to commemorate all that paid the ultimate sacrifice with the battalion’s Posthumous VC winners rightly remembered having gone further than anyone could ever expect.

They laid down their lives so that we could live ours and are deserving of the highest honour and tribute this memorial garden will provide.
