Marathon for Joe Aspinall

Asda Foundation Yorkshire Marathon 2021 · 17 October 2021 ·
Me and Isaac are running the Yorkshire Marathon on the 17th of October 2021 in the memory of our close friend Joseph Aspinall who we sadly lost this year.
Joe was a close friend of ours who was funny, cheeky, had an infectious smile and always grabbed the attention of the room he was in. Joe was loved by so many and has left us all missing him so much.
Joe was living his dream having gained a scholarship to play football in America and returned to the UK just before lockdown. Joe was admitted to hospital on the 25th of May and having been lucky enough to visit him he was always smiling, happy and cheerful throughout his time there but after a painfully short, 15 day, battle with Lymphoma Joe sadly passed away on the 10th of June leaving us all devastated. Joe was loved by so many people and has left a hole in all our hearts.
We took up running to help us deal with the loss of Joe and have decided to set ourselves the challenge of running a marathon having both only previously ran a 5K before. We will be sharing our Strava profiles for anyone who wants to follow our progress and posting big milestones on the site.
The charity we have chosen is the Laura Crane Youth Cancer Trust a charity based locally in Huddersfield helping 13-24-year olds with cancer through research and improving their quality of life.
Thanks in advance for your donations, no matter how small.
