I have arranged a walk to raise money for Edinburgh Sick children’s, Lochranza ward (Children’s cancer) in aid of my little baby Raheen Zahir Iqbal who left this world on the 18th August 2020 aged 10. She was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) at the age of 4 years old. We spent a large part of her short little life in hospital under care from the wonderful ward 2 in the old sick children’s hospital. 

Me and my friends are going to trek up Ben Nevis on the 10th October 2021. I have a large group of my friends and family who all are participating in this trek. Most of the  group have never walked a steep hill never mind the tallest mountain in the UK, so this will be a huge challenge for most of us guys. 

Every little penny we raise will all be going to the children’s cancer ward and day care department  in Edinburgh sick kids hospital. These wards will always remain close to my heart as they have helped us through so many difficult times  and happy moments throughout Raheen’s 6 years journey.

Every little penny helps as it will be given to the ward to use for what ever they require to brighten up the day for those little faces who battle through the harsh treatment plan and attend the ward regularly.

On a personal note I would like to thank all the nurses , physios, occupational therapist, dieticians, Oncology Dr’s and all the various teams who have been involved with Raheen’s treatment plan. I have never experienced such a dedicated and special team of people. I would also like to thank all my friends and family with the love and support we have always been given throughout Raheen’s journey and also to my work colleagues for all your understanding and support.  All you guys have been amazing. 

Now let’s smash this target!
