Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Joshua and I wanted to set ourselves a challenge this Autumn; something to get the heart beating, the eyes gazing and the body aching, we landed on scaling Africa's tallest point as something we'd both love to tick off the bucket list. 

With any challenge set, it is always nice to achieve something for the efforts put in.  In this instance we wanted to raise some money for two charities close to us both and are looking forward to carrying that additional weight of expectation (along with our rucksacks) up all 5,895m of Mt. Kilimanjaro. 

Together, we hope to raise £2,000 for Cancer Research UK and Sebastian's Action Trust.

Some of you may recall that 5 years ago I was part of a wonderful fundraising effort - Team Ride4Cancer - where 4 best friends and I cycled from London to Barcelona in just 10 days, raising more than £15,000 for Cancer Research UK.  The support we had simply blew us away and we felt a huge sense of purpose as we made our way to Barcelona. 

At the time, I had no idea of the impact cancer would have on my own family and yet, as I soon learned, life has a strange way of reminding us just how valuable it is.  Whilst my own dear Mum has since been fortunate enough to survive her encounter with the illness, my Grandma was not quite so, and it is with her in my thoughts that I want to complete this great challenge whilst raising funds for a charity that has become extremely close to my heart.
