Story
We are immensely proud of Ben. Knowing his cancer could not be cured he decided to set a massive challenge for himself and his brother to raise much needed funds for the Weston Park Cancer Charity. Ben's Tour of the North was a 7 day, 1100km cycle ride with more than 19km elevation gain, they have already raised a significant amount.
The charity supports people with cancer, this is particularly important for those living alone or in disadvantaged circumstances. Ben spoke to others undergoing treatment when he attended Weston Park, he was very aware not everyone has the benefit of a comfortable home with loving family and friends.
The charity provides complementary therapy and counselling. Ben was grateful for the mindfulness and massage therapy which helped him manage his symptoms. The charity also funds much needed research, we all want to see developments in diagnosis and treatment which hopefully will allow everyone to enjoy a long, healthy, active life.
Ben died aged 29, he had so many plans and dreams. It is impossible to express in words the grief we feel. If you wish to make a donation in memory of Ben this is the cause he has chosen.
