C2C7 - Cycle, Swim & Run · 24 July 2016
Hi guys
The Children's Heart Unit at the Freeman in Newcastle saved one of my best mates son, Seb, by performing open heart surgery on him when he was just sixteen weeks old.
What they do, how they do it and the kids they treat are remarkable which is why I've jumped back into stupid challenges with both feet.
The challenge is as follows:
Sunday 24th July
Cycle 75 miles from Whitehaven to Keswick
Climbing up Hardnott, Wrynose, Kirkstone (via The Struggle), Whinlatter and Honister Pass - total climbing 9,082ft
Monday 25th July
Swim 1 mile across Derwent Water & Cycle 65 miles to Alston.
Tuesday 26th July
Run 37 miles to Corbridge
Wednesday 27th July
Run a Marathon to Tynemouth Longsands Beach
We will stop at the Monument in Newcastle for the final group of runners to join us to run the last Half Marathon to Tynemouth.
To say I'll be in a pain would be an understatement.
So I'm offering you the chance to pay for my pain, to enjoy my suffering and celebrate my blisters.
Anything you can give would be wonderful safe in the knowledge I've never done anything quite so stupid- and hopefully never will again
Yours covered in Vaseline,
Ben
