Ben's going to Palestine to teach skateboarding to kids · 23 March 2018

SkatePal's goal is to spread the love of skateboarding in Palestine, through building skateparks, giving skateboard classes, and promoting the growing scene in the country. Skateboarding is a positive, creative and inclusive sport through which young people can express and challenge themselves.

Story

Hiiiiii!

As you probably know I love skateboarding. It began with doing laps around the tennis court at school, continues to this day and will do so until my body no longer functions! Skateboarding is challenging, exciting, good exercise, great meditation and just ruddy fun.

Volunteering with SkatePal will give me the opportunity to share this love with kids in Palestine.

SkatePal are doing great things, bringing skateboarding to kids who otherwise would not have the chance to do so. Before SkatePal existed there was no skateboarding in Palestine. Now there are two skateparks and an increasing number of boys AND GIRLS learning how to ollie, kickflip and grind!

For example, Fahmi (age 14) says "My life changed when the skatepark was built in Asira. It's nice for all the children, because now they can play somewhere safe that isn't in the street."

As volunteers we are asked to fundraise to allow the charity to bring skateboarding to the kids of Palestine. There's a neat little promo video (search SkatePal on Youtube) if you want to learn more about their work.

So please donate what you can. Thaaaaaaaaannnkkkkkksss!!!
