Sands supports anyone affected by the death of a baby, works in partnership with health professionals to try to ensure that bereaved parents and families receive the best possible care and funds research that could help to reduce the numbers of babies dying and families devastated by this tragedy.

Story

On 29th November our nephew, Bear Hamilton Pullen, was stillborn to Alice and Toby, our sister and brother. His passing has left a hole in our families that we didn't know even existed and his loss is mourned by us every day. The tragic period since his death has been incredibly difficult for Alice and Toby and, while they have received amazing support from loving family and friends, they have also been helped by the charity SANDS, who provided support to them during the earliest dark days and have continued to be there for them as they deal with their loss.

SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Charity) was set up 25 years ago by parents who themselves had lost their baby and has made a massive difference to the way that support is provided to parents and families that have lost a child.

All the money raised will go to West London SANDS and will help to pay for a dedicated room at St. Mary's Hospital and a 24 hour bereavement councillor.

As Bear’s uncle and auntie, we want to support this charity and the work that they do. As such we have both been training hard to run the Edinburgh marathon and would dearly appreciate any support you can provide to help us meet our target and help parents who lose their babies in the future.
