Story
Three days before Christmas 2020 we received a dreaded phone call. Princy was told her recent biopsy was cancerous and that it was both inoperable and incurable.
Normally at this time of the year we would be off travelling in an exotic destination. As neither of us really celebrate Christmas it has been the perfect way to end the year for the last twenty years.
2020 was obviously a different matter due to COVID-19, but also the unexplained pains Princy had been having which meant that even without a pandemic to contend with we would not have gone away.
In 2020 the long awaited trip we had to the Tokyo Olympics was cancelled. It got us talking about all the wonderful and interesting places that are closer to home within Europe. Road trips across Europe were going to be a feature in upcoming years.
Princy passed away on 11th March 2021 - just 80 days after being diagnosed with cancer.
This trip through parts of Europe is in memory of Princy. My wife, best friend and the love of my life. Nearly 27 years has passed since we met and became a couple. Her kindness, loyalty and compassion knew no bounds.
It is an opportunity to raise some funds for Royal Trinity Hospice that provided excellent palliative care with kindness, compassion, consideration and a very personal touch.
The trip will take in tiny villages to larger cities. With a few exceptions all the destinations will be rather randomly chosen depending on where the road will take me on any day. The intention is to visit places starting with each letter in the alphabet as well as the additional three Scandinavian letters.
The trip will be done on my custom Harley-Davidson Breakout which is nearly as far from a touring bike you can get.
You can follow my trip on Polarsteps. For an invitational link please email me on bbfiio@protonmail.com
