Virgin London Marathon 2016 · 24 April 2016 ·

We know that terminal illness turns lives upside-down. We help people live as well as possible for as long as possible and ensure their final days are comfortable and peaceful. We support families, friends and carers too. We depend on your kindness for 80% of the cost of delivering our services.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

In April 2016 I will be running the Virgin London Marathon on behalf of The Heart of Kent Hospice. It will be a real challenge for me and is a goal that I have always wanted to achieve.

I chose to run for the Heart of Kent Hospice as it is a charity that is very close to my heart. In April 2015 I sadly lost my Grandad (Derek Horne) to cancer. He was fortunate enough to pass away at the hospice, where the staff made sure he was as comfortable as possible. I will be very proud to run the marathon on behalf of my Grandad and the fantastic charity.

More about the Charity

  • They care for almost 1,000 patients and their families in their homes, in the community or at the hospice.
  • They charity costs over £4m to run a year and they rely solely on public donations as well as the fantastic volunteer staff.
Thank you in advance for your generosity. If you are free on the day of the event, please feel free to come and cheer me on!

I will keep everyone updated with my training programme and will of course let you know how I get on!
