Glasgow Women's Aid is a voluntary organisation run by women and provides information, support and temporary refuge accommodation for women, children and young people who are experiencing domestic abuse.

Story

Glasgow Women's Aid are a brilliant charity providing support to women, young people and children who are experiencing domestic abuse. They've been going for 35 years, and the services they provide are crucially important - providing information, refuge and support. Every wee penny adds up, so donate however much you can and it's really appreciated! Some of the things donations could cover are:

£5 could help purchase materials for a child to take part in a children‘s group actvity like baking or an arts and crafts project to gain confidence and encourage involvement with others.

£10 could help provide an emergency pack for a woman fleeing domestic abuse. In the majority of cases, women turn up at GWA with only the clothes on her back. This could help to provide essential items such as toiletries, nappies and food.

£20 could allow for a woman to take part in an activity with other women in refuge like yoga or stress management to help build her self esteem and health and well-being.

£50 could help cover costs for a child to have a session with our Play Therapist. This includes travel, subsistence, materials and equipment.

If you're a UK taxpayer, you can also Gift Aid your donation and it'll raise an extra 25% for the charity - but it doesn't cost you anything extra!
