Beth's big barnet chop

Beth's big barnet chop · 2 January 2018
Hi everyone!
So here's the story; as alot of you know I struggle with mental health which is a term no one really likes, including me. Some of the other labels I've got attached to me are that I am someone with a Panic Disorder, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Cinical Depression and I. B. S. due to all that. So when all those are having a party in my head and stomach and I'm feeling beyond low, sometimes I physically cannot look after myself. I struggle eating, drinking, cleaning the house, managing day to day tasks, personal hygiene, bothering to dress properly, sorting my hair out...
So I'm trying to help myself by helping others in that by cutting my hair shorter to a manageable length during my bad times it will make life that little bit easier. (Hopefully the symbolism of cutting away all the old dead stuff that's been hanging off my head for however many years will be a relief too!) I figured that by donating my hair to poorly kids through The Little Princess trust making them wigs would be a nice thing to do too.
So I'm already helping The Little Princess Trust with my silly amount of hair, so then I thought I'd like to raise money to help tame the beast which is mental health. So please sponsor me for chopping off my stupidly long hair by donating just a little bit to South Somerset Mind. They are part of the nationwide charity Mind but do not get any funding from them. Sadly they are not one of the organisations I have had much to do with due to working. As many of you know I have not had the best help from the NHS mental health team of late but luckily I can just about afford private therapy/counselling which is a great help. However, if this wasn't an option I would most definitely have used South Somerset Mind. Please support and allow others like me to be able to access help when they need it outside of the NHS. The big chop is booked for 2.30pm on Tuesday 2nd January 2018.
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
