Story
In my bid to raise £2000 for Action Medical Research, I’ll be running the London Marathon in October. This has been a long time in the making - Covid put an end to my 2020 marathon dreams but I’m back on plan!
I’m not a natural runner, but my training buddies/hounds (Bridget and Paddy) are doing their bit to give me a nudge!
The fact I’m doing it for an amazing charity which means so much to us, is also the best incentive..
Action Medical Research is a fantastic charity and incredibly worth the hard work fundraising. The organisation is especially close to me: In September 2015 my eldest daughter was born nine weeks early due to severe pre-eclampsia. She weighed just 2lb10 when she arrived.
Now Bronwyn is a beautiful, intelligent, energetic and sometimes infuriating six year old. That is all thanks to the amazing medical care we received during those vital first months.
In the build up to the London Marathon, I (and anyone else I can rope in), will be doing our bit to raise £2000 for Action Medical Research.
Action Medical Research is the leading UK-wide charity saving and changing children's lives through medical research. For 65 years the charity has helped pioneer ways to prevent disease and develop treatments benefiting millions of people.
The research has helped to beat polio in the UK, develop ultrasound, fight meningitis and prevent stillbirths. But it urgently needs to develop more new treatments and cures for sick babies and children and it can't do that without support.
