Hello!

I'm Bethany and I work as the Editor-in-chief of Switch on to Business, a regional high-end business magazine which aims to showcase existing businesses and provide a platform for new businesses.

I decided to run the half marathon after one too many glasses of wine one evening, primarily for my own personal achievement. I woke up with an ounce of regret and a small headache...

However, as Switch on to Business chose Claire House as one of its charities to help last year, I decided that it would be better to run and raise money for the children's hospice instead. Claire House Children's Hospice offers specialist care, support and choice to families whose children won't live to be adults. It is a fantastic charity, and one that needs support from kind people who donate to help the children and families who use the services and facilities.

I think it is incredibly important that once in a while we gather a bit of perspective; I know that I can be guilty of putting my job and personal life before certain issues that require help and attention. When Bethanie Pochin (Claire House fundraiser) spoke about the charity at a coffee event we held before Christmas, I could feel myself welling up. I forgot about my deadlines for Edition 4, and decided that I needed to do something to contribute to this fantastic cause.
