I have decided to take part in Leeds Half Marathon in aid of Cancer Research UK.

Last year doctors found a tumor in my Grandads ureter, unfortunately this cancer has recently spread to both his bones and lymph nodes and there is nothing doctors can do. My Grandad  means the absolute world to me and hearing there is nothing doctors can do is absolutely devastating.  

When I mentioned I was taking part in the half marathon I asked him what charity to do it for and he chose Cancer Research UK.

This charity means a lot to so many people around me. In addition to running in aid of my Grandad, I am also running in memory of an amazingly loved and missed friend, James Brook who sadly lost his battle in 2015 in addition to my Nana who sadly lost hers in 1995.
