Story
On Saturday 8th June 2019, we will be donning our comfiest trainers, getting sprayed head to toe in paint colour splash (well I will be anyway, Chris is yet to be persuaded) and taking part in the 10K Moonlight Colour Walk, all in memory of my Mum "Rita Platt" in an effort to raise as much cash as we can for Willowbrook Hospice.
Willowbrook is a part funded organisation that provides free specialist palliative care to patients with life-limiting illnesses and provides care for patients in the last days of their life as well as providing support to their carers & families.
As a charity they make no charge for the services they offer but it is not free to provide, they therefore rely heavily on their own fundraising efforts along with donations from the public and a modest contribution from the NHS.
Last September my family & I witnessed the unconditional support on offer, first hand, as they supported & guided us through what can only be described as one of the worst times of our lives, allowing my mum to die a dignified death and enhancing her quality of life through her final days. No amount of fund raising will ever repay our gratitude to the staff of Willowbrook, but we hope our efforts will go some way to help them continue to provide care for other families in the same situation as mine.
Please help us smash our target for this truly worthy cause & we thank you all in advance for your generosity & support
Bev & Chris Xx
