I am doing the 26 mile Kielder Walk Challenge on Saturday September 4th. This will be a big challenge for me and my joints!

The Children's Foundation has a vision  for the health and wellbeing of children and young people in North East England to be the best in the UK.

They  fund research to help to find cures for  sick children and prevent them from becoming ill. They  also investigate lifestyle issues which will  hopefully   lead to better long-term outcomes for children in the region.

They  support NHS projects including the Great North Children's Hospital with a campaign to include the latest technology in the wards to make the time spent in hospital as comfortable and stress-free as possible for children and their families.

They manage partnership projects which deliver practical, researched interventions to help children with disabilities or mental health issues and to promote the importance of child safety.

They aim to make North East children and ultimately children in the UK Happy, Healthy and Safe. 

 

It is based in the north east for children of the north east. As a nurse I have looked after sick children that have undergone major treatment.  They are our future and I wish to be able to support both research and the facilities that we have in the north east to ensure that we can provide the best.
