Story
Support us in our quest to complete the 7160 miles from Birmingham to Bastion and Back Again over 48 hours!! We are running, biking and rowing the distance that we fly to collect our wounded British Troops from Afghanistan.
Competitors from RCDM (Royal Centre for Defence Medicine), other Queen Elizabeth Hospital departments and University of Birmingham amongst others will be taking part on the 21st & 22nd of August in the main Atrium of the QE Hospital - please support this fantastic cause, and you are welcome to come along and cheer us on!
We will be raising £5,000 for Fisher House. This will find 200 nights at our "home away from home" for the families of military patients. Fisher House has 18 large family bedrooms, all with en-suite facilities, and disabled access throughout. There are also communal facilities for military patients to get out of the ward and spend time with their families, friends and colleagues in a non-clinical environment.
We will also be raising a further £5,000 to fund a Octane Seated Cross Trainer in the Physiotherapy department, which helps injured troops on their recovery.
You can also donate via text, by sending 'BHAM54 £5' to 70070
