Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Welcome back to my justgiving page. COVID 19 has lead to many events being cancelled in 2020, and as you will see below one or more the events that I promised to do were cancelled in 2019.

As such I have now challenged myself to complete my first half marathon. No fanfares, no start line and no finish line. Just me, a friend and 13 miles. Something I would never have done, but if I can raise a few extra pounds for Springhill in the process all the better.

For a reminder why I am doing this and the story so far, carry on reading.

My cousin recently passed sadly in 2019 following a period of illness with Bowel Cancer aged just 49 years. He leaves behind his wife, 3 children, his parents and his sister. He was passionate and caring man who's many many friends cared for him dearly, as he did them.

In his final weeks, Spring Hill Hospice provided much needed care and support to both my cousin and to his family. However, this vital support  for my cousin and many others does not come for free, with costs in excess of £3.2m per year.

Throughout 2019, I  set myself a number of cycling challenges totalling around 400 miles (currently) which I hope either collectively or individually will inspire you to give generously to this great cause. So far the rides are confirmed or soon to be confirmed can be seen below. I will hopefully add more as the year goes on
