Story
I am 15 years old and I am raising money for the Barbara Russell Unit at Frenchay. When I was 4 years old I had a terrible accident and I ended up with 3rd degree burns on both of my feet. I was taken to Barnstaple hospital but I was referred to Frenchay immediatly and they took good care of me from there. It was a very hard time in my families lives but Frenchay helped us get through it. I enjoyed majority of my time in the Barbara Russell Unit as the staff and patients were very friendly. I made lots of friends and I was able to take part in activities and event like Red Nose Day and Children In Need as the staff helped me do this. After being there for 3 months I was able to go home where my family continued to look after me. The Barbara Russell Unit did an amazing job with my feet and my scarring is not that noticable, they also successfully restructured my feet. I do not get self-consious when my feet are on show and i can walk perfectly with no trouble at all. They were amazing and help me and my family through alot which is why I want to raise money. Raising money for the Barbara Russell Unit is very important to me because I want children in the same position I was to have the amazing treatment I did. Donations would be so appreciated! Thank you for reading.
