Walney to Wear Cycle Ride · 30 April 2010
Blue Watch Rochdale Fire Station.
A team of Ten Firefighters from Blue Watch Rochdale are cycling the Walney to Wear cycle path from Walney Island near Barrow in Furness to Sunderland on the River Wear. The route includes the five mile climb up to the highest pub in England, The Tan Hill Inn near Kirkby Stephen. It will hopefully take us no longer than three days with a total mileage of just over 150 miles. We set off on 30th April and should finish on 2nd May 2010. We've had a change of driver in the last few days. Welcome to the team Bill Scott and thanks for volunteering your time.
Check out the following website for more details of the route we are taking http://www.cyclingw2w.info/
We are raising money for a local charity, Springhill Hospice in Rochdale. Please give generously for this well deserving charity.
