For one in two of us, cancer will change everything. When it does, so can we. Our services, advice, therapies and support are for you and the people close to you, helping everyone to live with and beyond cancer. The funds we raise also support vital, pioneering research and clinical trials.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

Back in 2008 i lost my Dad to Melanoma Cancer, this was a very tough time for my family and it was heartbreaking seeing what he went through. We wanted to create page in Dads memory with the long term goal of raising as much money as possible for the research department at Weston Park Hospital. We have teamed up with Weston Park Cancer Charity to make sure that every penny goes to research.

A little bit about Weston Park Cancer Charity it supports the Cancer Clinical Trials Centre, awarding up to £350,000 every year to help fund their 65-strong staff and allow them to run hundreds of clinical trials, testing new drugs and therapy regimens and offering patients access to cutting-edge treatment. Currently there are seven melanoma trials running, all of which have the potential to change the lives of melanoma patients, such as the nationwide DANTE trial which is being run by Sheffield researchers to try and improve the use of immunotherapy in melanoma treatment.

My Dad was huge horse racing fan, which lead me to become a fan of the sport to, so much so that i now have a career as a horse racing presenter and broadcaster. I approached Sir A.P McCoy and told him what i wanted to achieve in memory of my Dad and he has very kindly put his name to the cause to show his support. I also had a conversation with Nick Matthew who has also put his name to the fund to show support.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story about my Dad. Please help by donating anything you can to support this fund. My end goal is to raise as much money as i can to help find a cure, so that no other family goes through what we went through.

Thank you everyone,

The Beevers Family
