The Gritstone Grind · 8 September 2019

We support children & young people with Special Educational Needs and those experiencing difficult life circumstances and their families/carers. We recognise the many physical and mental health benefits of exercise and strive to increase access to exercise, in particular outdoor activities.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I am running all 35 miles of the Gritstone Trail, this Sunday 8th September, in aid of The Thomas Theyer Foundation. The trail also involves over 5000 feet of climbing in the gorgeous hills around where we live. The actual race finishes in the village of Disley, where I live, so I will be 'running home'.

This charity works to support children and young people with additional needs, their families and carers. The charity (and I) recognise the many benefits that physical exercise can bring and they strive to increase access to various activities, particularly in the outdoors. As part of their on-going fundraising efforts, the foundation are working towards building a lodge at White Hall in Buxton. This facility will enable young people like Thomas the opportunity to experience outdoor activities in a safe environment as well as respite breaks.

I hope you can help out for this worthy cause, as every penny will be that extra motivation for me as I run up them their hills exhausted!
