Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit Boris's JustGiving page.

On Friday 22 October 2010, our precious son Boris Oliver passed away due to acute viral myocarditis. We hope that in some small way Boris can make a difference and help other children who may face the same challenges he did. That is why we have set up this site to raise money for the Children's Acute Transport Service (CATS).

Boris was admitted to Stoke Mandeville who did everything they could to help him. It was decided that Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) would be better equipped to help little Boris. CATS is the team that is used to transport children between hospitals and specialised children's units. They are a charity who every year help over a thousand children in similar circumstances.

Although Boris never made it to GOSH, the CATS team tried everything they could to enable his transfer to happen. Unfortunately, this was not meant to be and they allowed Boris to die peacefully and with dignity in our arms, and for that reason we will always be extremely grateful to CATS.

If you would like further information on CATS below is the link to their website:

Many thanks for your support

The CATS Charity aims to relieve sickness and to promote and protect the good health of critically ill or injured children. Each year in the UK, thousands of children become seriously ill. The Children’s Acute Transport Service (CATS) is a specialised service designed to make intensive care rapidly available to critically ill children in the North Thames and East Anglia regions. As the largest dedicated children’s intensive care transport team in the UK, CATS have transferred over 1200 children each year to intensive care
