Participants: Fight Night at The Ministry of Sound - December 7th
on 20 October 2011
You are invited to attend a night of white collar boxing!!
Please support this worthy charity and join us for a night of ground and pound at the Ministry of Sound........on December 7th. (Doors open at 7pm)
As my guest you are invited to join us for a night of white collar boxing. I'll be fighting The Bulgarian Brawler in the Super Heavy Weight Bout of the evening. The night will also include other entertainment such as DJ's after the boxing is done (with a cameo appearance from SEI's very own DJ Az) and an Auction including items such as the chance to abseil into Twickenham Stadium with the Royal Marines before meeting the England Rugby Team and the chance to spend an activity day with the Marines.
Note: dress code is NOT blacktie but it is VIP so think Christmas Party and a bit of glamour! There is no sit down meal either - we want it to be far more relaxed.
Please make a minimum donation of £50 per person through this Justgiving page. Once you donate I will add your name onto my guest-list and send you a ticket; at the same time Justgiving will send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid (please please do this part!!) is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. I have already already sponsored the event to cover the costs of the event so there is no benefit therefore all of your donation will go straight to the Charity.
THE CAUSE:
Over a period of 18 months, 75% of serving Royal Marines have already or will be deployed - more than ever before. Given the nature of the conflict they face great danger, risking injury and even death on behalf of their country. When our Royal Marine Commandos need help the Royal Marine Charitable Trust Fund want to ensure they get it.
42 Commando have just completed their most recent tour of Afghanistan as part of Operation Herrick 14. With the loss of 8 men and almost 50 others severely injured they have paid a heavy price for defending our Country. Whilst Charities like Help for Heroes are doing an excellent job they are only able to help group causes and are not permitteded to offer help to individuals in need of direct assistance and this is where the RMCTF comes in:
The RMCTF helps Royal Marines and their families when they need it most. They aid the wounded and injured. They give quality of life to those returning from operations. When the worst happens, they support the families of those who die in service.
How will your donations will be used:
1) Recovery Pathway - Helping the severely injured as they begin their transition into civilian life.
2) Quality of Life Pathway - Helping those still serving who face successive high threat tours and providing funds to finance homecomings or memorials.
3) Through Life Pathway - Continuing much needed support to beneficiaries once they break their formal links with the Corps.
Sadly, but importantly, the RMCTF also provides a grant to the next of kin within 48 hours of the death of a Marine.
As you can see your donation will be well used to so please support this worthy cause and donate now - I look forward to seeing you on December 7th - doors open at 7pm!!!!
Many thanks for your support.
